About uniWeather.
The origins of uniWeather lie in urban climate monitoring. In 2020, intra-urban differences, particularly in thermal comfort, could still hardly be captured and represented operationally. At that time, the founder of uniWeather was working at the University of Freiburg as part of the urbisphere research project on a measurement network for thermal comfort, as well as on technologies for the real-time transmission and processing of measurement data. The goal was to capture an entire city comprehensively for the first time.
The ambition to record and provide real local conditions with the lowest possible delay remains deeply embedded in the uniWeather concept today: an end-to-end infrastructure spanning data loggers, data processing pipelines, analysis, and forecasting.
